David Robert Sampson was born in 1930 in the old Consort Hospital.  He was the youngest of four children.  His folks immigrated from North Dakota and took out a homestead near Kirriemuir, Alberta.

He took over the family farm when his father passed away suddenly in 1948.  David was eighteen and had been away working in a lumber mill.

He had a wonderful memory and regretted not having a chance to attend University.

David farmed and looked after his land with attention and love.  He truly appreciated his neighbours, family and friends.

When he was younger, one of his great interests was photography.  He even developed his own photos.

All his nieces and nephews remember him reading stories and reciting funny poems and limericks.  He held a special place in our family.

He enjoyed his years in the Consort Lodge and often talked about both old and new friends.  He was a generous, kind and considerate man and we will miss him.
