1943 – 2021

Mr. Edmund ‘Ed’ Wahl passed away at home on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the age of 77 years. Ed was born on August 23, 1943 at Zamosc, Poland. He immigrated to Canada with his mother, Anna in 1950. Shortly after, Anna met and married Mike; which would begin Ed’s life on his farm at Brownfield, Alberta. Ed attended Brownfield School and then continued his education at DeVry University in Toronto, where he received his Certification in Electronics. Following University, Ed worked in the Oilfield Industry, until he decided to return home to the family farm. Ed married his sweetheart, Hilda on November 18, 1972 and they lived together raising their three children, spending time with the community, and enjoying nieces, nephews, friends, and grandchildren. Ed enjoyed serving the Brownfield Community in many ways but especially as the area’s Cub Scout Leader for many years. After retiring from farming, Ed enjoyed the many trips he and Hilda took, gardening, spoiling his pets, and visiting with family and friends. The toughest days for Ed, was to recover from Hilda’s death in 2013. He loved her dearly and missed her daily. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Trent (Amanda) Wahl of Brownfield, Alberta and their children, Seth, Taytum and Jaden; Grant (Jaimie) Wahl of Botha, Alberta and their children, Taryn and Aurora; and his daughter, Christy Wahl (Stephen Milligan) of Calgary, Alberta; as well as many extended family and friends. Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife, Hilda, his mother, Anna Peter, his father, Edward Wahl and his stepfather, Mike Peter.

Interment will be held at the Fairfield Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are gratefully accepted to: Brownfield Recreation Centre, Box 56, Brownfield, Alberta T0C 0R0 as Ed was proud of the town's main hall and he and Hilda spent many hours volunteering there.
