DINGMAN, William Lorenzo

1941 – 2021

William Lorenzo Dingman was born May 13, 1941 in Brantford, Ontario. In his young adult years he had an adventurous spirit and would hop on trains that were passing by only to find himself miles from home before the day was done.  These sorts of adventures often brought him to the prairie provinces in the west, where he would eventually make his home.  William, also known fondly as Bill, was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather as well as a hard worker who loved country music.  He had a great sense of humour and always put a smile in your face.  After a stroke in 2016, Bill’s health declined quickly which changed his independent living to that of the caring, kind, and compassionate care of living in Coronation Hospital’s Long-Term Care, in which the family is so grateful for.  Bill passed away August 24, 2021 at 80 years of age.  He is survived by his daughter, Christine Dingman of Cluny, Alberta; grandchildren, Jackman Jangs, Kyle Jangs, Cody Jangs, and Michael Jangs of Calgary, Alberta; great-grandson, Damian Jangs of Calgary, Alberta; special friend, Cheryle Marshall; brothers and sisters in Ontario, Ronnie, Alby, George, Bernie, Mildred, Louise, and Marg and their families; as well as numerous friends.  Bill was predeceased by his parents, Fredrick and Mavis (Duke) Dingman.

A cremation took place for Bill and an intimate private family gathering will take place in Calgary to celebrate his life while remembering the dear man that will be missed.

He Only Takes The Best

God saw that you were getting tired,

A cure was not to be

So He put his arms around you

And said, “Come with Me”.

With tearful eyes, we saw you suffer,

We watched you fade away

Although we loved you dearly,

We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,

Hard working hands to rest,

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best.
